Dear Greer -

Wow.  What a crazy, whirlwind 2 years of life you’ve had.  You were born less than 2 months before we left Ohio.  At 3 weeks old, we took you on your first plane ride out to here so that your Mommy could interview with the hospital she currently works at.  Less than a month later, you rode in our van with Mommy, Arwen, and Grandma, while daddy drove a great big moving truck, 2500 miles across the country to our new home at Helm’s Deep.  Through all of that, you were a champ.

You and Arwen are quite alike in many ways, and yet so very different in others.  You are my constant cuddle buddy, and Daddy loves to snuggle on the couch with you.  You also have quite the mischievous, ornery side to you.  You get this look in your eyes, and this little sideways smile on your face, and I can just tell you’re up to something.  You are also the constant comedian, always making us laugh, whether it be the way you say something, or how much you enjoy dancing, spinning, and singing.  You, my precious little girl, bring us so much joy.

We have loved watching the relationship and genuine friendship grow between you and Arwen.  It’s so much fun to watch you two play outside together, or listen to the two of you through the monitor in the mornings before Mommy and Daddy get up.  And, very, very soon, you’re gonna be a big sister, just like Arwen is a big sister to you.  I can’t wait to see you teach the new little one things and interact with your new sibling.  You are going to be a great big sister, I just know it.

Greer, Daddy is so very blessed beyond words to have you for a daughter.  You are my little buddy, and I cherish every moment I get to spend with you, playing the silly little games we make up, you asking me to climb on my head and running through the house together, listening to you sing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” reading you books (and you reading them back to me), hiding under the blankets from the “monsters.”

I love you so very much, and I hope the next year of your life is filled with more adventures, snuggles, books, songs, dancing, and giggles.

Love,

Daddy
