Helm's Deep

So, I got to thinking about the image I posted earlier today.  Then came across this article.  Although it was meant to be humorous, and was an obvious nod to my appreciation of all things baked and tasty, I can definitely see the other side of the argument.  I got to thinking about my girls.  About what they are already being bombarded with in terms of body image, society’s attitude towards what real beauty is, what the media is telling them about how they are supposed to look.

In that light, the image is reckless and plays on long-held stereotypes of beauty and image.  Despite its intended humor, it’s honestly not something I’d ever want my girls to see, or an ideal that I want them to think I hold them, or any human being, to.

I’m honestly putting this here more for my own sake than yours.  I just needed to get it out here, and see the words for myself.
