Cheek to Cheek :: What I Missed Yesterday

sallydoodle replied to your post: Woah…

Butts, butts, butts, butts, butts. Ok, so I wasn’t on much either and all I remember is texnessa’s rugby video. Oh! And Canadian Thanksgiving in England.

drawing-bored answered your question: Woah…

i’m gonna go out on a limb here and say “butts”. butts happened on tumblr today.

Of all the days not to get caught up on my dash, I had to miss yesterday.

So, are we talking about a LOT of butts?  What was the butt-to-post ratio?  Were there equal parts man butts and lady butts?

Wow…

You guys are so kind and awesome and…well…you’re the best thing about Tumblr, really.

A little update, and some wonderful and kind reply replies, which I’ll leave after a jump:

We’ll be taking the van in on Friday to be looked at.  I’m pretty sure the transmission is going to need replaced.  If it’s just a seal, I’ll be thrilled, but I’m just no counting on it.  Guess that makes me a Debby Downer.  As for Bonny, our little sedan that could, Stacie took it to work today and it seemed o.k. to her.  It just bothers me that it seems to stall for no reason, and makes me nervous for her to get stranded somewhere with it.  We do have AAA, but right now we just can’t have both cars inoperable.

So, that’s where we’re at.  I had a very promising meeting with a client yesterday that, if I land the job, could really help us out.  If not, well, we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

Now, on to what makes you guys the best:

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

I might be on my third glass. But it’s still not okay. There can be only one.

So, Evan, tell us how you really feel?  I’m with you.  I have many, many reservations about this now.

sallydoodle replied to your post: CORRECTION

I dunno, man. I DON’T KNOW.

They were pushing KRE-O at the battleship premiere. Have I said enough?

…..and I assume your response would be, “Unless Alexander Skarsgård delivers them to me, then NO!”

Yeah, this makes me uneasy.  Just kind of wondering if Hasbro has had the exclusive rights to Star Trek toy properties and decided to throw some muscle around and rush this out before LEGO had a chance to negotiate a sweet deal with CBS.

We really like the Kenya, but it’s a bit pricey. It is however one of the best light roasts out there, and it has a great flavor. I have to admit, though, this BrewHouse is very, very good.

Also, Jules, TLOTH, and Dr. Baffled can attest to the quality and flavor of his Colombian roast.

I have a cow bell. For serious. Can I get in on this?

Ok, now with Texnessa on cowbell and PalmTreePalmTree providing hand rhythm (claps), this is going to be bigger than “We Are The World.”

It’s on.

Ok, the fact that The Really Good Pot Roast is on board now makes me for serious.  Maybe we should do a writing session via Skype or Google+, have everybody record their parts via metronome, then have RGPR multitrack and master the thing.  I’m not sure it would be the very first Tumblr music collaboration, but it would definitely be the very first one with an oboe solo.  So, TLOTH, get ready.

band geek fist bump. what did you play?

I marched tuba, and then played marimba, auxiliary percussion, and bass guitar in the pit/front ensemble.  And then in Symphonic Band I played tuba, and stand-up bass in Jazz Band.  How about you guys?

And who else out here is a former/current band geek?  Hit me up in the comments.  Good to know I’m not alone.

On Five Guys

well, this looks significantly better than my steamed veggies and salad lunch. sigh!
Have to admit, it probably was.  Now, it was in no way as good for me as your lunch was for you, but dear lord in heaven it was tasty.

I have yet to try to the Five Guys, need to compare to In-N-Out and Shake Shack in which the latter is winning at the moment.
In -N-Out definitely has more variety in their menu than Five Guys does, and they don’t carry milkshakes, which is almost a travesty.  However, what they do have, especially their fries, is very, very good.

there’s a five guys in the same strip mall as an in-n-out near my house. i keep intending to do a taste test - something to put on the agenda.
I am very sad with the fact that the closest In-N-Out to me is 618.2 miles away.  Not that I’ve checked or anything.

Love the Tumblr Hive Mind

Mad props to EvanGotlib and LadyOfTheHouse for the white vinegar suggestion. And thanks as well to sallydoodle for the encouragement. Worked like a charm. You guys rock!

that looks really nice and sturdy as well as beautimus. something this wino could definitely use as my hand gestures tend to become a *bit* more exaggerated as the wine disappears.

Now that I’ve actually been using it to consume wine, I can tell you that it feels wonderful in my hand.  I really enjoy the thicker stem, and the balance of the glass is perfect.
